Loughborough Design School
New Designers Stand and Newspaper
Following the success of the Loughborough Degree Show identity, we were asked to assist with the design of a stand to appear at the New Designers Product Design Exhibition 2016. The space needed to house 14 students work, giving each product its own showcase while still having a strong visual presence as a group exhibition. The visual style followed on from the book we produced for the 2016 Degree Show to maintain consistency while designs of the stand were sketched during group meetings. The sketches were followed by 3D designs of the space, built to allow experimentation without having to undergo any manual labour before sign-off. Alongside the stand, we worked with staff at the Design School to produce a 48 page, A3 newspaper showcasing each students work, the university and alumni achievements.
We modelled the space in 3D software to give a perfect understanding of how each section would come to life. The final stand was built at Loughborough Design School using aluminium framework and Foamex boards.
Clarity was key, so by using simple linear drawings and subtle imagery we created a stand out exhibition that people could easily understand.
